The passengers will be able to fly to the capital of the Netherlands every day from 15th May 2017. The departure to Gdansk is scheduled for 11:45, whereas the arrival to Amsterdam for 14:05. The route will be operated by Embraer 190 aircraft with 100 seating capacity.
By the announcement of this route Gdansk has been listed among the prestigious group of new routes provided by KLM. Apart from Gdansk, the new destinations introduced by KLM include Graz (Austria), Porto (Portugal), Málaga (Spain), Split (Croatia), Cagliari and Catania (Italy).
“It has been the most important event for Gdansk Airport this year. We are very happy that the offer of our Airport will be extended by this remarkable airline commencing from May 2017. The Dutch airlines KLM (meaning Royal Dutch Airlines) is the oldest airline in the world, founded and operating since 1919. We are proud that such an airline has trusted us and has confirmed the potential of our Region. We have been seeking for a direct route to Schiphol airport in Amsterdam for many years, as it was the most popular destination, still not available from Gdansk. In this way, we have bridged the gap and our Airport has gained a member of another airline alliance - Skyteam. The members of Skyteam airline alliance include such airlines as Aeroflot, China Airlines and Delta Air Lines. We are sure that the route will be popular among our business partners and passengers, not only from our Region” - said Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Board of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.
