Gdańsk Airport – modernization of airside airport infrastructure
The following tasks were performed in this regard:
- reconstruction of the MV (medium voltage) and LV (low voltage) cable network, including the removal of cables colliding with the designed surfaces;
- construction of a transformer station;
- relocation of the teletechnical network and ducting.
As part of the remaining preparatory works, the following tasks were performed:
- demolition of concrete and asphalt concrete surfaces as well as foundations;
- demolition and silting up of a section of the 800 mm storm sewer (after the construction of the new drainage system);
- reconstruction of a section of the 200 mm sanitary sewer;
- dismantling of vertical signage.
The transformer station building is designed as an Airport Power Supply Point. The total usable area is 188.8 m2. The building volume is 840 m3, and the height is 3.9 m. Cable crossings designed under the surfaces are installed in cable ducts at a depth of 1 m. In places where the routes of existing cables were changed, they were connected to new cables with the same technical parameters using parallel joints. Cable manholes were also constructed in these locations. During the modernization, cables were replaced with new ones (the estimated length of removed cables is approximately 3 km). The total length of new cables is 64 km.
