Checking in
Conditions of carriage
Conditions of carriage are part of an agreement between a passenger and a carrier. You are advised to familiarize yourself with conditions of carriage of the airline you are going to fly with. Every airline has its own terms and conditions, which are accessible on airlines websites.
What you need to check-in?
First of all, a valid document with photo entitling to cross the border (ID or passport). A reservation printout with your reservation number, travel details and conditions can also be useful.
Arriving at check-in desk
Time of check-in is set up by carriers. The sooner you arrive at check-in, the faster you go through security control and get to the Departure Hall.
After arriving at the airport
Before finding oneself at Departure Hall and getting on board every passenger needs to go through two important procedures – check-in and security control. Check-in takes place at desks marked with airline logo, name of destination, flight number and departure time. You will be asked for a valid photo ID and possibly a reservation printout. At check-in you will receive boarding card entitling entry on board. Also at check-in your registered baggage will be tagged and sent to aircraft hold. After checking yourself and your baggage in and receiving a boarding card you should go to the security control before going to Departure Hall. After security control you can relax and just wait for the announcement to board the plane.
Check-in closure
Each airline determines, in its conditions of carriage, the time when check-in closes. After check-in is closed, passengers can’t be accepted for a particular flight. If you are late for check-in, you need to go to a particular airline ticket office. You might be able to change departure date for next day or next flight.
If you need more information
If you have any more questions regarding fees or conditions of carriage, you should contact a particular airline directly via call center or check certain conditions in General Conditions of Carriage accessible on airlines websites.
