TEN-T PROJECT
Investment status:
In progress
The Global Project includes the modernization and development of the airport in Gdańsk to create capacity for handling growing passenger traffic. This global project consists of the following stages:
I. Study work covered by the project "Analysis of the long-term adaptation of the Lech Wałęsa International Airport, a TEN-T node in northern Poland, to the needs of air transport" consists of creating the necessary documentation that will enable the subsequent implementation of investment works aimed at optimizing the use of airport infrastructure, taking into account aspects related to transport intermodality and interoperability.
II. Investment activities will primarily focus on making better use of the existing infrastructure and planning the airport's development in accordance with the principles of sustainable socio-economic development of the region, increasing safety, and taking environmental protection principles into account. These investments are included in the list of key projects under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme. Gdańsk Airport has two approved projects whose impact has been defined on a supra-regional and national scale.
The implementation of the Project will indirectly contribute to achieving the OPI&E indicators regarding increased capacity and improved safety at airports. These projects are also important in the context of Poland hosting EURO 2012, specifically concerning the enhancement of safety during increased airport traffic.
The indirect objective of the project will be the preparation of a general plan and project analyses consistent with the priorities defined in that plan, enabling investments that are strategic for the airport's development.
The first stage is related to the implementation of study works, which are intended to provide answers to fundamental questions regarding the optimization of development directions. To achieve the project's objective, the following tasks are planned:
1. Master Plan
2. Stormwater drainage system design.
3. Project analyses – preparation of construction and/or executive designs resulting from the Master Plan development.
4. External audit.
