„This is an amazing news that we are coming back to normality and flying. We had 80 thousand passengers more in August than in July. That is by 30% more than we had expected. People fly to work abroad because they have to, they fly for vacation and to visit persons they have not seen for several months. I am convinced that the confidence in flying will be growing. Furthermore, if we calm down the situations in all the fields, including medical, economic, political and media area, in the period from this fall until spring, then all the airports will start marching forward and in three years we will achieve the results as at the time before the pandemic” - said Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.

In August twice more passengers travelled with charter flights for vacation than in July. The destinations served by the tour operators include: Antalya, Zakinthos, Heraklion, Majorca and Burgas. However, trips to Rhodes were the most popular. Also the regular connections operated by LOT during the holidays enjoyed popularity. Most of the travelers from Gdansk chose Rome. The aircrafts of our national carrier flew also from Gdansk to Barcelona, Burgas, Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Tirana.
