1. GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Due to expected increased air traffic on June 24-26 related to the Ukraine Recovery Conference URC 2026 to effectively use the existing airport infrastructure and related facilities, we ‘d like to inform you about temporary procedures and restrictions that will be applied at Gdansk lech Wałęsa Airport.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Document are to implement a set of procedures in order to maintain efficient regular traffic flow, to maintain additional traffic within the special conditions, to grant all ground support for efficient use of the existing airport infrastructure and related services and to inform all aircraft operators about the temporary procedures and limitations applicable at Gdańsk Lech Walesa aerodrome.
2. TEMPORARY PROCEDURES
The Gdańsk Airport Operations Department will be responsible for allocating parking spaces (coordination).
Approval for landing and parking
In case of non-scheduled flights it is required to obtain approval for landing and parking from the Airport Duty Officer. The request must contain the following information:
• planned date and time of landing (ETA) at EPGD aerodrome
• planned date and time of departure (ETD) from EPGD aerodrome;
• aircraft type and ICAO fire-fighting category for this type;
• call sign and flight number;
• ICAO or IATA code of departure aerodrome;
• ICAO or IATA code of destination aerodrome;
• confirmation of provided handling service;
Requests:
• shall be submitted at least 72 hours before ETA;
• including incomplete information will not be considered;
• submitted without a required time notice may be rejected;
• shall be addressed to: ops@airport.gdansk.pl.
• Responses will be made by Operations Department of Gdańsk Airport only by means of e-mail not ater than 24 hours before ETA.
• Number of clearance shall be placed in Item 18 of FPL after RMK designator.
3. LIMITAITONS
The limitations do not apply to regular aircrafts based at Gdansk Lech Wałęsa Airport, scheduled flights of carriers operating regularly at Gdańsk Lecha Wałęsa Airport, and flights with the followings statuses: HOSP, SAR, HUM, EMER and HEAD.
The crew must stay on board during the ground time in order to ensure an efficient refueling procedure and the ability to change the parking stand.
Failure to comply with the provisions may result in lack of available stand and delays as well as other difficulties for the carrier and its clients for which the aerodrome administration shall not bear responsibility.
In case of changing the type of aircraft, the aircraft operator is obliged to request again a parking approval.
Due to the limited number of stands and large number of planned operations, refusal to grant approval for parking may be expected. In case the approval for longer parking has not been granted, aircraft relocation to alternative aerodrome.
4. PROVIDING GROUND HANDLING AT GDAŃSK LECH WAŁĘSA AIRPORT
Aircraft operators are obliged to contact with ground handling company at least one week before scheduled arrival to ensure that all necessary details for the operation are arranged and cleared including refueling and possibility of push back of a given type of aircraft.
The air carrier is obliged to confirm that the ground handling agent is in possession of a tow bar enabling aircraft towing/push back. If there is no such tow bar available, an air carrier is obliged to have it on board or use a push back (towing) procedure agreed with the handling agent. The confirmation shall be given to the Operations Department of Gdańsk Airport while requesting a stand.
The ground handling company will send the confirmation of handling service with the specified details of service. All ground handling services must be ordered in advance.
Ground handling agent will not guarantee any services requested after arrival at the airport and may refuse the performance of this kind of service.
Aircraft operators with confirmed handling service will be given priority.
It is recommended that all airport, fuel and handling fees should be performed in the form of pre-payment before the arrival of the flight according to the service request. The corrections will be made after 21 days of the flight operation.
Aircraft operators with parked aircraft and where crew have left the aircraft for a period greater than 30 minutes should ensure that a representative is appointed with the authority and expertise to move the aircraft at short notice. Contact details should be provided to the ground handling company.
5. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Any additional information related to limitations in the aerodrome availability or their earlier cancellation will be published by NOTAM.
