Gdansk lays on one of the most beautiful coasts of Northern Europe and as such attracts more and more travellers to the yet undiscovered pearl of Central Eastern Europe. Its beauty and affordable living will soon make this region one of the most exciting places to be. We are pleased to be able to work with Cork Airport and continue to offer more new routes to more new destinations always at low fares."
Speaking at the announcement of the 40th scheduled destination from Cork, Pat Keohane, Chief Executive, Cork Airport said: "We are delighted with Wizz Air's announcement that they are to add Gdansk to our ever growing list of destinations direct from Cork Airport. Cork Airport is fast becoming a gateway to Eastern Europe and Poland in particular. Since the start of this year we have added four new Polish destinations and the first Wizz Air service to Katowice will commence on July 14th next with very heavy advance bookings and we look forward to busy traffic on the Gdansk route also.
The southern region will be actively marketed in Poland and we look forward to welcoming many inbound visitors to Cork. We are sure that the people of Munster and beyond served by the South of Ireland's gateway will be equally keen to explore the delights of Poland through Cork Airport when the flights to Gdansk commence in December."
