A safe journey starts at the Airport

Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport has implemented special safety procedures due to the requirements regarding the prevention of coronavirus contagion. Some of the travel rules have changed. The regular domestic flights have started since 1st June.

„The mission of Gdansk Airport is to ensure safe and comfortable travelling opportunities to our passengers. We have implemented numerous procedures and devices promoting social distancing and hygiene precautions” - said Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. 

The airport operates in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. According to these guidelines, the airport recommends their passengers to check in online and have their boarding card available in their mobile phone. There is only one entry to the terminal building, and it may be entered only by passengers, aircraft crew and airport personnel. Each passenger is subject to an automatic and electronic temperature check after entering the passenger terminal. The passengers are required to wear face masks covering their nose and mouth during the whole travel. The masks are available at the airport stores. The disinfection dispensers are available at the terminal. A social distance of (min. 1.5 m) is to be maintained within the premises. Card payment is recommended in the stores and catering points. LOT Polish Airlines resumed the regular domestic flights on 1st June 2020, after a 78-day break due to coronavirus pandemic. LOT has informed that for now it will provide flights to 8 Polish cities, including Gdansk, seven days a week, three times a day from Warsaw and once a day from Cracow.
