British Airlines have announced that commencing from July they will launch regular connections to Heathrow Airport, the largest airport in Europe, for the first time on the Gdansk-London route.
Flights from Lech Walesa Gdansk Airport to London will start on July 2nd and will be operated until September 26th, 2021 three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“Appearing of British Airlines in Gdansk is a great success. We are pleased to see this largest British airline company, one of the largest in the world. The launch of scheduled flights to London Heathrow Airport, a huge transfer hub, is an opportunity for our passengers on many international and intercontinental flights. We also hope that British tourists will now be even more willing to visit Gdansk and Pomerania. It is also an important event for the maritime industry who send their employees to ports all over the world. Moreover, it is an opportunity to develop business contacts in many other sectors” - said Tomasz Kloskowski, the President of Lech Walesa Gdansk Airport.
“It’s great to be launching new routes as we listen to our customers and assess where they want to travel. We know this new destination will be popular with people visiting friends and relatives, but they also offer great city breaks, when the time is right, with flights that head out just before the weekend and return on Sunday” - said Neil Chernoff, Director of Connection Network and Alliances of British Airways.
Right now passengers can book flights via ba.com.
British Airlines Airbus 320 aircrafts with 180 passenger seats will be flying on the route from Gdansk to London.
The new connection of British Airways is the first connection between Gdansk and Heathrow Airport. The British carrier returns to Gdansk after 20 years, because from April 1998 until October 2001 they were flying London, however, to Gatwick Airport.
