From 11 October, we will be able to buy tickets from yet another low-cost carrier which is about to connect the Pomeranian region with Oslo - the capital city of Norway. The new route, to be serviced by the Norwegian airlines Norwegian Air, will be officially inaugurated on 12 November.
Press release
In making the decision to launch a new connection between Gdańsk and Oslo, the Norwegian carrier emphasised the status of Gdańsk as a cultural and economic centre on the Polish coast, with a population of approximately half a million residents and tourists and recreation facilities which could become an attractive destination for Norwegian travellers. After Warsaw and Cracow, Gdańsk is the third Polish airport to receive Boeing 737 aircraft of the Norwegian carrier.
“Thanks to the low fares offered by the Norwegian airlines, Norway and its capital city of Oslo, which have been relatively inaccessible to tourists from Gdańsk and the surrounding region, will now be within reach," says Tomasz Kloskowski, Vice-President of the Management Board of Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. “Norwegian Air’s offer is particularly attractive for wildlife lovers who will now be able to travel via Oslo to cities located north of the Artic Circle, in the northernmost part of the European continent."
The average ticket price offered by Norwegian Air varies from 50 to 200 Euro. A promotional tariff with fares as low as 25 Euro (inclusive of taxes and airport charges) will be offered on the Gdańsk-Oslo route. The Norwegian carrier will fly twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights from Gdańsk to Oslo will take less than one and a half hours.
