On March 14 new regional airlines will start selling their tickets. The first flights are expected before Easter.
Direct Fly is the first carrier in Poland to go directly on such routes as Gdańsk - Cracow, without stopping in Warsaw.
“Direct Fly is a new brand which Sky Express cargo carrier used to launch scheduled passenger flights from 6 airports in Poland and 2 airports abroad," says Jan Szczepkowski, President of Direct Fly.
The new airlines will service the following connections:
Cracow - Gdańsk, Warsaw - Gdańsk, Warsaw - Wrocław, Gdańsk - Wrocław, Łódź - Berlin, Gdańsk - Berlin, Bydgoszcz - Berlin, and Bydgoszcz - Copenhagen.
Direct Fly will also launch cyclic charter flights on the Łódź - Kiev and Rzeszów - Lviv routes. It is already evident that the interest in these connections is so large the flights will be provided at least twice a week. Tickets for the charter flights will be booked at Łódź-based Wilejka travel agency.
“Our offer is addressed to people who hate to overpay but find the lack of comfort on budget flights a last resort. The average fare on the Gdańsk - Warsaw route is PLN 314. This means that tickets can be bought at PLN 149 to PLN 419. As regards connections such as Gdańsk - Berlin, the average fare is PLN 405, i.e. from PLN 199 to PLN 499. The fares are exclusive of airport charges," - says Vice-President Sławomir Decewicz.
On the Gdańsk - Cracow and Gdańsk - Wrocław routes, there will be one flight daily, five days a week - from Monday to Friday. Aircraft to Warsaw and Berlin will fly once daily, seven days a week.
Direct Fly has also prepared a special offer for companies. A Multiple Air Pass for 20 or 40 flights allows flights on a selected route at a fixed price even if tickets are booked at the last moment.
In the case of connections such as Warsaw - Gdańsk, with a Multiple Air Pass for 20 flights, a single flight will cost PLN 299. With a Multiple Air Pass for 40 flights, the price drops to PLN 269. The average regular fare on this route is PLN 309.
On March 14 at 8:00 a.m. www.directfly.pl portal will be launched as the main ticket sales channel. Additionally, tickets can be bought via a call-centre. Two weeks before departure of the first flights, tickets will also be available from airport outlets.
Direct Fly is going to use Swedish Saab 340 aircraft: 34-seaters with comfortable leather seats. Free in-flight catering will be provided.
