Gdańsk-Trójmiasto Airport was among the winners of the 6th European Medal for Services. A diploma along with the medal for airport management was presented by Józef Oleksy to the President of the Board Włodzimierz Machczyński.
The sixth ceremony of granting the European Medal for Services Award to the winning finalists was held on April 14th at the Colonnade Hall of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery in Warsaw. In line with the idea behind the European Medal, this year’s awards were given to services which meet European quality standards. The European Medal is a recommendation awarded to the distinguished products and services by Business Center Club and the Office of the Committee for European Integration.
This initiative is aimed at promoting high-quality products and popularising methods for high quality attainment. The competition is held on a semi-annual basis, separately for products and services. A nominated product or service must meet regulatory standards, have appropriate licenses, patents etc. Additionally, the Verification Board who resolve on granting the nomination attach importance to the company’s economic result as well as awarded prizes and certificates.
It is also taken into account whether and in what way the company is preparing for Poland’s accession to the European Union - whether the nominee makes use of training courses, seminars on European integration, legal consultancy and analyses, market research etc.
Award nominees receive a Diploma (signed by the Secretary of the Committee for European Integration - Minister Danuta Hübner, the Head of the Verification Board - Ms Grażyna Majcher-Magdziak and the President of BCC - Mr Marek Goliszewski) and a medal cast in bronze.
