Wizz Air expands from Gdansk

Wizz Air, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low-fare, low-cost airline announced today that it would start new flights from Gdansk to Liverpool.

Liverpool is the second UK city served by the airline from Pomerania. Wizz Air currently flies to London/Luton, Dortmund and will commence flights to Stockholm/Skavsta on 1st December from Gdansk.

 Wizz Air just recently announced the establishement of its new crew base in Warsaw and the start of the new Wroclaw-Dortmund flight from 1st March 2006. All these steps underline Wizz Air’s commitment to the Polish market. Since the start of operations in May 2004 Wizz Air has carried 1.5 million passengers on the airline’s routes to and from Poland and became the undisputed market leader with over 40% share of the low cost market. 

 The new Gdansk-Liverpool flight will commence on 2 March 2006 3 times a week. Tickets are already on sale for as low as 19 PLN or 3.99 GBP (excluding taxes and charges) on wizzair.com or by calling the Wizz Air call centre on  +48 22 351 94 99.

 József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air said: "We have been successfully growing our business from Gdansk.
