Gdansk Airport wins AirHelp ranking

04.12.2023 | 16:00

Passengers have rated us the best in Poland.

The AirHelp Score world ranking of the best airlines and airports has been published since 2015 by AirHelp, the world's largest company protecting the rights of airline passengers.

This year's ranking was once again a success for Gdansk Airport. The punctuality of planes taking off and landing at our Airport was rated highly. Restaurants and shops located in the Passenger Terminal and offering a range of services and goods to travellers were also evaluated favourably. Moreover, the passengers' overall impression of the Airport was taken into account. And in all these categories, Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport proved to be the best in Poland, overtaking Warsaw Chopin Airport, Krakow-Balice and the airports of Wroclaw and Katowice, which were also taken into account in the ranking. We have the first place in the national ranking and 28th in the global AirHelp Score.

"We are proud to have won the ranking of Poland's best-rated airports published by AirHelp for another year running. It is the best and most reliable assessment, because it was made by our passengers. Their satisfaction is the greatest distinction for us. We are very grateful to them and promise to constantly work on improving the level of service," said Tomasz Kloskowski, President of the Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.

The global airport stakes starts in 2023 with Muscat International Airport in Oman. The previous winner, Tokyo-Haneda Airport, dropped to 14th position. This year, not a single European airport made it into the top 10, dominated by the airports in Japan and Brazil. The best result among European airports was achieved by Spanish Bilbao Airport, which ranked 21st.

"Today we have one of the most reliable and accurate global datasets on flights. The AirHelp Score ranking is an authoritative and important tool which can be used by the aviation industry operators. On its basis, airlines and airports can assess their position in the market and identify the service areas that need improvement as they are rated by the travellers. As the world's largest company protecting the rights of air passengers, we educate passengers on their rights, but at the same time we remind airline industry operators that it is the travellers' opinions, their impressions and experiences of the flight, that matter most. This is the guiding idea behind the AirHelp Score," said Tomasz Pawliszyn, Head of AirHelp.

This year, AirHelp's global survey has a much broader scope than before. The opinions of more than 5,300 passengers flying on 83 airlines to almost 200 airports around the world have been taken into account. The survey was conducted between January and the end of October 2023.
