Record breaking first half of 2011 at Gdańsk Lech Walesa Airport

The first half of this year was another record period in terms of the number of passengers served. The results show that during the first six months of 2011 the number of passengers was higher by 10% than in the record-breaking first half of 2010, marking a new record in the history of Gdańsk Lech Walesa Airport. The number of operations increased by 2% and the mass of cargo handled by 18%. SAS today launched a campaign with thousands tickets for sale. The discounts go up to 40 percent compared to the usual low prices which SAS offers on regular basis.

Periodically SAS offers such campaigns to stimulate demand for available seats and attract new customers to try its services.
The aim is of course primarily to sell more tickets, so that we fill up each flight. In addition SAS wants to change customers' perception, to make its products more attractive to leisure travelers, who typically demand low prices in Economy Class. In Economy, SAS always offers 23 kg free checked in baggage, free check-in at the airport, internet, automat check-in where available, seat reservation and 24 money back guarantee.
The campaign started today and sales ends 3APR 2012. The travel period is stretched out so that low-priced tickets within Europe are valid for travel from 29 april and up to 15 December. The same travel period is valid for tickets to Asia, with the exception of the period 25 June to 28 October, which is not offered for the special low promotional prices.

The discounts on the lowest booking classes in Europe varies between 7 to 20 percent below usual low cost. On some routes tickets will be up to 30-40 percent cheaper than normal.
